Our dogs

Because none of this would be possible without them, here is a little glimpse into our team of dogs. Each one is unique, with their own personality and character traits.

They live in pairs in 50m² enclosures (twice the legal size), and in most cases, a pair lives and works together. We choose the pairs based on individual affinities, and in many cases, they are siblings.

Our retirees helped us earn a living for many years, so we owe them a few extra years of peaceful retirement. Some of them still occasionally take part in winter cani-hike outings during sled dog and multi-activity expeditions. The rest of the year, they enjoy a relaxed life and roam around with their friends in the park.

The working dogs are divided between our two tours : multi-adventure and dog sledding safari.

Portrait of an Alaskan husky

Aroun

A former wild spirit, a great worker, and a sweet dog, he retired at the age of 12. He now spends his days with his buddies and enjoys outings in the play park.

Jokkmokk

An exceptional lead dog, he broke trail for thousands of kilometers through powder snow and truly earned his retirement, which he chose to take at age 10. Now 16, he and his brother Aroun are the eldest of the kennel.

Une chienne groenlandaise court

Kamik

Our beloved “Mimik.” As the matriarch, she still rules over all her “little ones” (now grown-up) and visits them whenever she’s free in the kennel.

Portrait d'un chien de traineau

Spoon

Still very active, “Spoonnette” loves walks, swims, and taking our visitors out on cani-hikes! At 14 years old, she’s still in great shape.

Idun

This slightly possessive Greenland dog is quite the clingy one. She wants all the attention for herself. She suffers from arthritis and only goes out in the play park, where she still runs around like a little wild thing.

Dawa

Reserved and rather independent, he enjoys spending his time quietly on his own. Even though his sledding days are well behind him, he’s always up for a cani-hike!

Portrait d"un chien nordique en hiver

Sela

Shy around humans, Sela has a strong personality and doesn’t let her four-legged companions push her around. She can be quite fierce with the other males, especially at mealtime.

Portrait d'un chien de traineau

Blake

Full of energy, he wrapped up his last sled season at 12 and a half years old. Still eager to get out and “go to work,” he’ll gladly pull you along on a cani-hike!

Attelage de chiens de traineau

Jumba

Smart, affectionate, and incredibly sweet, Jumba loves feeling useful. She chose to retire two years ago and now enjoys a peaceful life in the retirees’ kennel alongside her mother Kamik and her brother Totem.

Totem

Tired of the hustle and bustle of the active dogs’ kennel, Totem is much happier enjoying the calm among the old-timers. He’s also famous for the bubbles he can make when he drools!

Ours

Inseparable from his buddy Joplin, he loves digging and often uncovers buried treasures (the kennel is built on an old barn that once housed cows). Bits of wood, metal scraps, and cow jaws are some of his finds.

Joplin

Joplin loves getting her behind scratched. She absolutely refuses to leave her enclosure if Ours (her companion) isn’t coming along. On a dog sled hike, she pulls like crazy when Ours is ahead of her, but won’t pull at all if she has to wait for him behind!

Vuac

A former professional climber, Vuac loves to play and work (especially on dog sled hikes). She still sometimes chews through her gate to get out when she sees her buddies heading out for activities.

Moose

Born at Flarken, he spent his working life with colleagues in a nearby village. He has returned to us to enjoy his retirement with his brothers and sisters. He’s a quiet dog who has well integrated into the pack of seniors.

Chelam

Very shy and reserved, she has never been fond of petting. She has always tolerated being handled by humans, as long as it was for work.

Modig

Affectionate and energetic, Modig still climbs over his enclosure to join the others. Even though he no longer has enough energy for sledding trips, he’s always happy to go out for a cani-rando walk.

Portrait d'un groenlandais en Laponie

Ratrack

Charismatic, gentle, and kind, Ratrack was a powerhouse at work. He now enjoys a peaceful retirement.

Churros

He loves cuddles and prefers to stay comfortable in his enclosure. He’s not very comfortable in a large group of dogs.

Kayak

Very affectionate with people, he used to be quite aggressive towards other dogs. Age has mellowed him out. Like his brother Churros, he’s not comfortable in a group and prefers the quiet of his own enclosure.

Chess

She’s our Ma Dalton. She gave birth to some exceptional (and slightly quirky) dogs who now form the core of our pack. Jo, Jack, Averell, and William—her pups who’ve all grown up—have certainly kept her on her toes.

Portrait d'un alaskan husky

Zep

Inseparable from her brother, they spend their free time playing, chasing each other around their enclosure, and giving each other kisses.

Iggy

Despite his tireless eagerness to work, he’s starting to slow down physically and will do his final season this winter, part-time.

Grishka

With a lower jaw shorter than his upper jaw, Grishka (Bodganoff) is a very sensitive dog. His favorite pastime: eating his own poop!

Django

Weighing in at 40 kg, Django is nonetheless incredibly gentle. He’ll melt your heart with his soulful, pleading eyes.

Un chien de traineau tire la langue

Sarek

His addiction: pulling! He struggles to contain his excitement when it’s time to run. Powerful, focused, and fast, he’s an excellent dog—plus, he’s gentle and affectionate.

Denver

Denver has not an ounce of aggression in him. Playful and friendly, he gets along with all the other dogs and loves cuddles.

Taku

Taku can sometimes have a bad temper with other males. But with females and humans, he is sweet and gentle as can be.

Portrait d'un chien de traineau

Kili

Always happy, Kili is full of love and joy for life. Like his brothers Sarek, Denver, and Taku, he’s an excellent worker.

Ragnar

Despite his tough appearance, Ragnar is a very sensitive dog. A hard worker, he is also extremely gentle.

Rollo

Powerful and hardworking, he’s a big ball of love. He’s always teamed up with his brother Ragnar, and together they make an incredible duo.

Portrait d'un groenlandsais en Laponie, Suède

Björn

Exceptionally beautiful, Björn is very shy and rather submissive with the other dogs. He is serious and never complains.

Tchuk

A gentle, reserved, and hardworking Greenland dog. Also quite submissive, he takes advantage of the opportunity to assert himself when he finds a weaker dog.

Clyde

Very protective (almost possessive) of his sister Bonnie, Clyde is super friendly. He’s a hard worker who loves belly rubs.

Portrait de Bonnie, un chien de traineau

Bonnie

This little rascal with a strong personality is full of energy. She still knows how to calm down for some pets, which she demands with sometimes rather forceful paw taps.

Diabolo

This Czech wolfdog mix retains the wild nature of the wolf. Very wary of humans—even those he knows and sees every day—he feels truly comfortable only with his brother Satanas.

Satanas

Satanas loves having his rump scratched. The winter of 2025 will be his last season before retirement. Despite his age, he still pulls tirelessly.

Morock

With his clownish face, Morock is a bundle of muscles. He’s a great guard dog (always alerting us whenever someone approaches) and, of course, a strong sled dog.

Portrait d'une chienne groenlandaise en Laponie

Nevee

This little lady takes her job seriously. Very sweet and gentle, she melts the hearts of the other males but truly belongs to Django.

Bulle

This little ball of energy impresses everyone. She weighs 16 kg but has the energy of four dogs! She truly thrives when working.

Iwa

Like her sisters Onyx and Bulle, Iwa is small but mighty and LOVES to run. She’s friendly with the other dogs, but she’d still tear her sisters’ eyes out if she could!

Jo

One of the four Dalton brothers, Jo is smart. Energetic and athletic, he’s a rocket! Inseparable from Averell, he’s still learning to become a lead dog.

Jack

Very sweet and affectionate with people, it’s not always the same with his four-legged buddies. This hyperactive dog loves to run and burn off energy.

Portrait d'un chien de traineau

William

Energetic (it runs in the family), he can be a bit shy with strangers. To win his affection, just give him some scratches on the behind.

Averell

The sweetest of the four, Averell showers all the dogs with kisses. Playful and affectionate, he can hardly contain his constant excitement.

Kira

This female is a Canadian Eskimo dog, very sociable, loves cuddles, and is serious when working—although sometimes she’d rather have a good scratching session.

Portrait d'un chien tirant la langue

Kavik

Shy with people and aggressive toward other dogs when he first arrived at the kennel, Kavik is now very comfortable with humans and has adapted well to the pack.

Portrait d'un chien de traineau

Dobby

Dobby is a clingy little guy who needs lots of attention. He takes cleaning human skin very seriously and won’t let go until he’s sure it’s spotless (he basically scrubs your skin clean)!

Portrait de notre chien de tête

Lasko

He’s our top lead dog. Intelligent, calm, and gentle, all the other dogs respect him. A true homebody, he only likes leaving his enclosure to go to work.

Norway

This hunting dog mix has a bit of a thin coat, but he’s incredibly strong, always motivated, and gets his own little jacket to keep warm when the temperatures drop below freezing.

Ulvran

Intelligent, calm, and attentive, Ulvran could make an excellent lead dog, but he doesn’t like being at the front and feels uneasy crossing frozen expanses.

Norut

Reserved around people, he truly comes into his own when he’s harnessed. Reliable, focused, and sociable with other dogs, his absolute favorite thing is pulling a sled — over and over again!

Portrait d'une alaskan husky

Arielle

Full of energy, she loves to express her joy by barking. Coming from a long-distance racing kennel, she always gives 200%.

Portrait d'un chien de traineau

Sparrow

He arrived as an adult from another kennel and was originally named Jack. Since we already had a Jack Dalton, we renamed him Sparrow. He quickly got used to his new name and his new pack.

This Greenland dog is an excellent mother and had her first litter in April 2024 (Big Mac, Whooper, Hot Dog, and Burger). Intelligent and attentive, she is fast and hardworking.

OG

Born in a racing kennel, OG won one of the biggest races in Scandinavia. This winter, he’ll be training as a lead dog alongside Lasko.

Gina

Very young and very gentle, she still needs to build her confidence. She’ll be doing her first season this winter.

Portrait d'un groenlandais en Laponie

Miwok

With his little teacher’s pet face, he melts everyone’s heart. He works like a pro and, on top of that, is adorable and very affectionate.

Magua

Just as adorable as his brother Miwok, Magua is more independent and very attentive. The two brothers live and work together.

Dozer

Named for his tendency to charge into everything and everyone, he inspired the theme for the litter alongside Cater, Bim, Bam, and Boom (who aren’t much different).

Portrait d'un groenlandais en Laponie

Cater

Kind and much less rough than his brother Dozer, he is playful and affectionate. Still young abd crazy, they both need discipline and structure.

Portrait d'une Groenlandaise en été

Boom

The calmest of the litter, she can be a bit shy with strangers. She follows her buddy and roommate Kili everywhere.

Bim

Full of life, she jumps all around and has a broken tooth to her name (sorry Tonyo). Bim talks a lot and loves playing with her buddy Taku.

Rasta

Born in 2023, Rasta and Rocket are starting their first season this winter. They’ve already developed a taste for work and are working like crazy.

Rocket

Handsome as can be, independent, confident, and a bit wild—Rocket has it all going for him.

Kamala

We don’t have a sweeter or gentler female. Hardworking and serious, she’s a great mom who has had two litters: Bonnie and Clyde, then Taku, Sarek, Denver, Kili, and Kenya.

Kenya

Sweet and gentle, Kenya is also a bit of a pain. She growls at all the other dogs to make sure she gets all the attention for herself.

Sioux

Beautiful and intelligent (and she knows it), Sioux can sometimes act like a little diva with the other dogs. Inseparable from her brother Saïvo, she’s an absolute sweetheart with humans.

Portrait d'un chien de traineau groenlandais

Saïvo

Just as talkative as his sister, Saïvo is always cheerful. He’s slowly getting back to work after spending last winter at home recovering from cruciate ligament surgery.

Intelligent, strong, serious, and versatile at work, Niakwé is an excellent lead dog. Territorial by nature, he doesn’t appreciate other males stepping into his space.

Onyx

Don’t be fooled by her small size — Onyx is powerful, fast, and bursting with energy. She loves pulling, running, and exploring the forests just as much as we do.

Eus

Rather introverted, Eus is a fighter who thrives when he’s working. Very calm before setting off, he turns into a powerhouse once he’s in harness!

Un alaskan husky au grand sourire

Zen

Or “Zinzin” (which means “crazy” in French), Zen is only truly zen after running 40 km! Playful and affectionate, he knows how to express his joy and love for running.

Arrod

Arrod truly thrives only through work, and even though he has a few buddies within the pack, he has a hard time forming friendships with the other dogs.

Arwen

Like her brother Arrod, Arwen thrives through work and raising her pups. She’s a wonderful mother—very protective, full of kindness—who teaches both discipline and play.

Cotton

This little rascal is a climbing pro. She scales the fences of her kennel and goes to visit the neighbors whenever she feels like it! Sometimes we find her three or four enclosures away from her own.

Portrait d'un chien de traineau

Rackam

If he looks a bit like Cotton, it’s because they’re brother and sister. Even though he sometimes seems a little ‘spaced out,’ Rackam is so driven when working that he struggles to pace himself, pushes too hard, and overheats—especially when the temperatures aren’t very low.

Népal

Madly in love with Kamala, with whom he shares his enclosure, Népal cries day and night when they’re separated during her heat, and tries every possible way to escape to join her—whether by chewing his door or digging.

Nelson

Impressively large, Nelson weighs 40 kg. Very powerful, he loves to speed up on downhill slopes and send the sled driver flying ;) His kindness is as big as his size!

Puisi

Gentle and extremely kind, Puisi is a bit shy. He was born in the Jura Mountains and joined us along with many of his brothers and sisters in June 2021.

Purjock

Puisi’s brother, Purjock has a strong personality, both with dogs and humans. This big teddy bear has a very high-pitched voice and doesn’t like his paws being messed with.

Une petite alaskan husky en Laponie suédoise

Socks

Built like a bodybuilder, this little Alaskan Husky is multi-talented. Since she understands commands, she handles both the lead and the middle positions in the team equally well.

Okis

Mother of Dozer, Cater, Bim, Bam, and Boom—whom she passed on her energy and cheerfulness (or madness) to—she’s a lively and playful dog who can sometimes be a bit lazy when it comes to getting to work.

un groenlandais court face à l'objectif

Baco

Close to humans, fulfilled and happy, Baco radiates joy. His tough-guy appearance hides a big heart full of love just waiting to be shared.

Portrait d'un alaskan husky

Pan

With his Rantanplan-like looks, Pan is a little acrobat. He can climb out of his enclosure in no time if he wants to. He often perches at the top of the fence for a better view of the kennel. Very attentive, he loves sleeping in the warmth of the house.

Portrait d'une petite groenlandaise

Bam

Full of energy, she always needs attention. Sweet, playful, and mischievous — you just can’t help but love her.

Texas

His heterochromatic eyes and captivating gaze charm everyone. He’s got it all: handsome, hardworking, and cuddly. Just a heads-up — he loves nibbling on fingers!

Portrait d'un chien de traineau

Alfred

With his piercing gaze, Alfred wins over more than a few hearts. Kind, affectionate, sociable, and hardworking, he’s one of the participants’ favorites.

Portrait d'un groenlandais

Gustave

Very cuddly, sweet, and a great worker, he’s an amazing dog who’s got it all. Always in a good mood, he can whine for hours just to get some attention.

Juneau

This clever little guy is an escape artist — over or under, it doesn’t matter. He climbs as well as he digs. He’s a great worker and is always harnessed alongside his brother Skagway. Juneau is the capital of Alaska.

Skagway

More well-behaved than Juneau, he’s very serious when working and never lets up. He’s named after a small town in Alaska whose name means ‘city of wind’ in the Tlingit language. This town has a rich history tied to the gold rush.

Un chien groenlandais en Laponie

Ginto

Arriving in March 2023, it was tricky to find him a roommate he got along with. Though not the least bit aggressive, he’s particular — either too submissive or ends up dominating the other if they’re weaker. Hanska turned out to be the lucky one.

Hanska

Rather independent, Hanska likes his own little space. He’s also stubborn and does whatever he wants, especially when he decides to head in the opposite direction of the sled caravan.

Un alaskan husky en balade

Salto

Patient and gentle, Salto doesn’t hesitate to leave the sled caravan and lead the whole team in the wrong direction, much to the dismay of his driver and the guide. Along with his brothers Elfe, Boss, and Voodoo, he’ll be entering his second season this winter.

Chiot en train de jouer en laponie

Elfe

Very cute, Elfe was born with huge ears. Motivated, well-behaved, and sociable, he loves being active and playing with Salto.

Un Alaskan Huusky noir joue

Voodoo

Calm, composed, and serious, he’s a great worker. Powerful, fast, and attentive, he tends to lose weight quite quickly.

Un Alaskan Huusky noir joue

Boss

Independent from a young age, he was the first of his eight brothers to leave his kennel and explore his enclosure. More daring than the others, he’s the little leader of the pack—hence his name!

Otto

With his unique look, people often ask us what breed he is. This Alaskan Husky is a clever little guy who loves running in the powder snow (always on the right), much to the dismay of the sled driver.

Portrait d'un chien de traineauy

Tango

His gray coat is quite rare among Greenland dogs. Still young, he’s an excellent worker. Serious, powerful, and consistent, he forms a great duo with his brother Cash.

Portrait d'un chien de traineau

Cash

A bit shy with strangers, he’s opening up more and more thanks to being handled by our participants during winter. He has the annoying habit of nibbling on the fingers of anyone who tries to touch him!

Plume

Light and delicate like a feather, she’s a little rocket who loves playing with her brothers and sisters.

Sky

With her beautiful blue eyes and boundless energy, Sky has a strong little personality and doesn’t let her brothers push her around.

Bouv

The strongest of the litter, Bouv is also the roughest. Like Hercules, he doesn’t realize his own strength.

Cookie

As handsome as can be, Cookie is sweet and cuddly. His favorite play (and wrestling) partner is Bouv.

Arctic

Absolutely adorable, she’s playful, sweet, and cuddly. Her favorite place to nap is on people’s laps.

Scopic

ery sociable, Scopic is a real little shadow who absolutely loves people. Like a good concierge, he’s always front and center for everything happening around the kennel!

Portrait d'un chiots en Suède

Big Mac

Calm and well-behaved like his parents, Big Mac has a lovable personality and a gaze that could melt anyone’s heart.

Un chiot se détend dans sa niche

Whooper

Gentle and independent, Whooper avoids the constant commotion and takes refuge in his kennel when the other pups stir up trouble.

A german shepherd enjoys the snow in Swedish Lapland

Che

Friendly and playful, Che is a German Shepherd. Despite his imposing body, he’s not the most daring. He accompanies the sled dog expeditions off leash, trotting alongside the sled.

Portrait d'un chat en Laponie suédoise

Bandit

The hide and seek King, he spends his winters curled up on radiators or buried under blankets, and his summers roaming the forest. He’s not a big fan of dogs— in fact, he hates all!

Portrait d'un chat en Laponie suédoise

Chouette

The hunting queen. Very affectionate, she sometimes struts around outside in winter—when it’s not too cold. In summer, she is almost always outdoor, splitting her time between hunting adventures and cool, shady naps.
